Leaves

Pretty much all the leaves have fallen in our backyard now and it is getting COLD. Not cold compared to those of you with snow though. I kinda wish we had snow if it is going to be cold. Don't the two go together? It is much prettier that way. Of course, if we did have snow Caleb would be begging over and over again to go outside and play. He has been asking for snow every day as it is!

Anna generally stays away from the camera, but she wanted a turn on the stool since she watched Caleb doing it first. I HATED my picture taken as a child so I guess this is only fair... She is such a cutie though!
Caleb is ALWAYS available for modeling while I test my lighting. Gotta love it :)
Ethan- 7 Months old. Thanks to his great-grandmother for the beautiful afghan!

I had two photos sessions yesterday so wanted to take advantage of all my studio equipment being set up. I have not had a chance to take photos of Ethan in a long time so that was my goal... Unfortunately he is having a rough time right now. I don't know what is going on with him but my easy going baby is VERY fussy right now. He keeps tugging/digging/pulling at his ears but when I took him to the doctor she said his ears look great. Perhaps teething? But he wasn't anything like this for the first two teeth... I don't know. It breaks a momma's heart though to not be able to comfort her baby.

Wedding Album

I am so excited! I have been designing albums for around 6 years now (for 2 different photography studios) but I just designed my first album using all of my own images and my own photo lab! It arrived in the mail today and I love it! Just wanted to share...

Rose Garden Wedding

I moved home Saturday night and Sunday afternoon I was scheduled to photograph a "small" wedding. This is the third wedding I have photographed this year and all of them have been very unique. Pete and Christy chose an outdoor wedding at this beautiful rose garden and I love, love, love the location! The only problem was that Sunday morning it was pouring down rain! I had asked Christy about a back up plan and she said, "We will just bring umbrellas." Fortunately the weather did clear up and it turned into a gorgeous afternoon. I got a few artsy photos and overall am happy with what I got. I had a surprise though when the guests showed up... My art instructor from Blackburn was in attendance- talk about intimidating! He is the one who got me started in photography. The photo below is a picture of Mitch Clark and his wife, Rosemary. Mitch retired as I was graduating from Blackburn College.

.......... Here's what it really looks like!!!!

We just got home from our vacation with Jason's family. You see the 6 kids here- all 6 of them are age 4 and under. There were also 4 foster kids on vacation with us (2 year old twins, a 7 year old and a 12 year old). Pure craziness as I am sure you can imagine!

Our vacation got cut just a little bit short because on the last evening of the trip, sewer backed up into the basement. We had kids on mattresses on the floor... and it was stinky... and we weren't allowed to shower or flush toilets. So, we all loaded up and went home a little early. We got home at 2am.

Leah's Visit

Last week Leah and Silas came to visit us for a few days. It was nice outside (well, in the 50s anyway) so we even got out for a walk one day! Caleb and Anna liked having their cousin around. Caleb wanted to feed Silas which was kind of funny because Silas is at the age where he can feed himself some finger foods. Caleb covered up Silas' cheerios with one hand and used the other hand to try putting the cereal in Silas' mouth! Anna would find his sippy cup on the floor and carry it to him.

Caleb wanted me to take pictures of him when I had all my equipment set up for Malia's session. He was supposed to be getting ready for a nap but I figured having a live model to test my lighting would be helpful. So this is my boy, my oldest child. He is growing up sooooo quickly!

Studio (of sorts)

I just finished a photo session of a very cute little girl who just turned one. Later I will upload some photos from her session because she is just so adorable! First though I wanted to give you a glimpse of my "studio." I am sitting in my bedroom doorway to take this picture and my kitchen table and chairs have been moved into the living room. Behind the background is my kitchen sink. Yup, very tight quarters. For now this is what I work with and I am thankful that I have the ability to do this job even to the extent that I do. Someday though, it would be nice to have a better studio location!
